Smart, climate-ready farming: the FarmForward webinar

Moderated by Giota Digkoglou, the FarmForward webinar brought together scientists, agricultural consultants, industry professionals and farmers to share practical strategies for modernising agriculture. The discussion explored how smart farming technologies and digital tools can lower production costs, which techniques help farms adapt to climate change, and what real case studies teach us. Speakers: Panagiotis Iliopoulos (University of Thessaly, BioCrop Systems), Katerina Karampatea (Democritus University of Thrace, UNESCO Chair Con-E-Ect), Theofania Tsampala (Agrostis), Michalis Kaminiaris (AGENSO) and millet producer Maria Boti.

Second FarmForward partner meeting

On 17 and 18 September, the FarmForward team met in Athens, at the premises of our partner Smart Agro Hub, for the project’s second transnational partner meeting. Two productive days covered climate-resilient farming assessments, interactive educational resources and key policy recommendations, with special attention to how the upcoming pilot activities will bring real, tangible impact to farmers and advisors.

From 2 to 4 September, the Resilience in Action partners from Italy, Greece and Poland joined forces in Thessaloniki for the project’s second workshop. Over three creative days we explored innovative strategies and designed three interactive workshops with original educational material, all aimed at strengthening resilience and adaptability in our countries.

Digital skills for seniors: training workshop in Vicenza

On 9 and 10 June 2026, educators, trainers and project partners met at the Fondazione Università Adulti/Anziani in Vicenza for a two-day workshop on digital literacy for seniors. Day one covered methods for teaching digital skills to older adults, digital ageism, intergenerational learning and everyday smartphone use; day two turned to digital tools for daily life, cybersecurity and technology at work. The workshop closed with a live demonstration of the Generation Infinity platform, a look at the next steps and the award of certificates.

Escape rooms for climate education in Bratislava

From 12 to 14 May 2026, Comenius University Bratislava hosted the EcoMystery International Teachers’ Workshop at its Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. Sixteen teachers from five partner countries spent three intensive days that began with a live escape room at the Museum of the City of Bratislava and continued with hands-on climate experiments, digital escape-room challenges and a first test of the Carbon Cycle board game. Together we explored how the Teachers Advancement Program, the “Escape the Climate Crisis” Coursework and the EcoMystery Platform combine into coherent learning pathways, and the teachers’ feedback will shape the next version of the materials.

The Resilience in Action journey started in Lecce, Italy, from 5 to 7 May 2026. The kick-off brought together teams from Italy, Poland and Greece for three days full of laughter, learning, creativity and exploration, and a partnership that grew naturally through the exchange of ideas. Cyber Escape kicks off in Eger

The Cyber Escape Erasmus+ project officially began with a two-day kick-off meeting on 28 and 29 April 2026, hosted by Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger, Hungary. Partners agreed on the objectives and work plan, with particular focus on the teacher capacity-building programme, the Cyber Escape curriculum and the digital platform, as well as quality, communication and sustainability. In the months ahead, the consortium will develop resources that help teachers and students navigate the digital age and promote responsible, inclusive and sustainable digital citizenship.

Building the Generation Infinity platform in Kavala

On 13 November 2025, the Generation Infinity partners met in Kavala to work on the project’s digital learning platform. Hosted by BLUECHAIN, the platform’s developers, in a historic cultural centre in the old town, partners from Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, Italy and Slovenia reviewed its main features. The platform will offer interactive, accessible modules on digital safety, everyday technology and intergenerational learning, tackling one of Europe’s pressing challenges: the digital exclusion of seniors.

EcoMystery partners meet in Kavala

On 7 and 8 November 2025, the EcoMystery consortium met at the historic Halil Bey Mosque in the old town of Kavala. Over two days, partners shaped the training programmes for teachers and students that bring innovative approaches to environmental education and climate awareness into schools. A highlight was the presentation of the EcoMystery platform, which will host educational escape rooms that engage young people with the climate crisis through interactive, participatory learning.

EuroCivic Lab teacher training in Porto

From 14 to 16 October 2025, the EuroCivic Lab partners organised a three-day international teacher training workshop at Colégio Salesianos do Porto in Portugal. Facilitators from each partner turned the project’s seven thematic handbooks into classroom language, with less jargon and more practical tools, through interactive exercises, group work and Living Lab simulations on civic education, European identity and the Sustainable Development Goals. The workshop ended with a reflection session, a certificate ceremony and a school tour led by two wonderful students.

Making digital life senior-friendly

On 20 June 2025, the Generation Infinity partners met face to face, warmly welcomed by our coordinator, the Municipality of Gotse Delchev. The main focus was wrapping up the research phase that maps where older adults get stuck online, so that the upcoming curriculum, trainer toolkit and e-platform meet their real needs. Next steps: finalising the Feasibility and Gap Report, polishing the training modules and rolling out pilot sessions in five countries.

Strategy sprint in Vilnius

On 18 and 19 June, Vilnius hosted the FarmForward team for a two-day strategy sprint. Our research phase, mapping the real training gaps in climate-smart farming across five EU countries, was nearly complete, and from handbook drafts to hands-on demos, every item on the to-do list got a green tick. Many thanks to our coordinator, the Qualifications and VET Development Centre (Kvalifikacijų ir profesinio mokymo plėtros centras), for the warm welcome.

EcoMystery’s first partner meeting in Vicenza

On 8 and 9 May 2025, the EcoMystery partnership gathered at Polo Giovani B55 in Vicenza for its first face-to-face meeting. Partners from Italy, Greece, Slovakia, Portugal and Romania reviewed the first findings of the needs analysis and planned the next milestones: a teacher-training programme and student materials built on physical and digital escape rooms. Two Italian pilot schools joined the project, and four teachers from Noventa Vicentina worked side by side with the consortium so that classroom realities shape every stage.

EuroCivic Lab kicks off in Eger

The first face-to-face meeting of EuroCivic Lab took place from 14 to 16 April 2025 at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger, Hungary, launching a collaboration between partners from Hungary, Greece, Turkey, Austria, Portugal and Lithuania. Together we laid the foundations for handbooks, lesson plans and teacher training on EU citizenship and European identity, social activism, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the Living Lab methodology, so that primary school teachers can inspire the next generation of active, sustainability-minded European citizens.
