Operational Research
Social Nebula conducts cutting-edge research and operational analysis to identify the most effective strategies and tactics for driving social progress.
By exploiting the potential of Multiple-Criteria Decision Aiding, decision-makers are able to take into account a range of different criteria and factors when analysing complex social challenges. This supports a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of each issue and enables transparent, evidence-informed choices among competing alternatives.
Our scientific approach draws on Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis and outranking methodologies, with particular expertise in PROMETHEE-based decision support, group decision-making and dynamic decision environments.
Current research interests include the modelling of preferences that evolve over time, time-sensitive preference functions, the aggregation of multiple decision-makers’ evaluations, sensitivity and robustness analysis, and the development of transparent decision-support frameworks.
These methods can be applied to climate change, sustainability assessment, education, social innovation and public-policy problems in which economic, environmental and social criteria must be considered simultaneously.
